Pastor Clyde’s Column – “Word” Power

The Bible records in Romans 10:8 a most revealing truth. It reads, “What does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is the word of faith which we preach) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” No greater or more important “word” can be spoken, heard, received or believed, but the “word” must not stop with us. It must be passed on to other people through example, witness, and testimony. If it stops with us I fully believe that we and future generations will pay a terrible price for our silence or reluctance to share the “word” we have been blessed to receive. The “word” must not stop with us. It’s wonderful to receive and more wonderful to give it to other people. Hymn No. 564 in the Baptist Hymnal titled, “Make Me a Channel of Blessing” asks “Is your life a channel of blessing? Is the love of God flowing through you? Are you telling the lost of the Savior? Are you ready His service to do?”! – Clyde
