Laura Burkhalter has been sharing her wonderful talent with us for more than twenty years. She plays for worship services; accompanies the choir, soloists, and ensembles; and blesses us with beautiful offertory music every Sunday. She also directed the Children’s Choir for fifteen years.
Laura was born and raised in Anniston, AL. She says, “My mother was a wonderful Christian influence in my life. She led me in prayer when I accepted the Lord at the age of twelve. She gave me an opportunity to start taking piano lessons as a child, and that began my love of music. I grew to believe that God wanted me to develop the gift of music that He gave me.” Laura earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Berry College, and taught in the Rome City Schools before becoming the Music Teacher at Glenwood Primary School.
Laura’s husband Charles sings in the adult choir, and her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Shane Wilson, are PVN members as well. Laura’s favorite leisure activities are family times, music, and reading. She says, “I consider it an honor and a privilege to worship and serve with the people at PVN.”
